How to Register:

Registration must be completed at the Park District office or by phone-in. A parent handbook will be given out prior to the program start date. Included in the handbook is an Emergency Release Form. This form must be completed and turned in on the first day of BASC.

 

Days Off Club:

School’s out, so join us for a day of fun! Children will participate in a variety of games and activities to keep themselves engaged. Please pack your child a lunch and water bottle. An afternoon snack is provided. On days that all Hanover Park schools are off, we will be going on a field trip. This program is open to all children in grades K-8; enrollment in Before and After School Club is not required. Camp sunrise is available from 6:15 am - 8 am see the information listed below.

Don’t have a set schedule or need childcare when something comes up? Then this is your solution. The Daily Pass allows you to purchase days and use them throughout the school year. Please note that some days may become unavailable based on program capacity. No refunds on unused passes.

How to Pay:

Tuition is based on the total number of days school is actually in session per year. Fees are divided into 9 equal payments for the school year and will not be lower for those months that have fewer attendance days due to holidays (i.e. winter and spring break)

A $15 non-resident fee will be charged at the time of registration when applicable.

Preschool Mission Statement:

The Hanover Park Park District aims to provide a safe and nurturing environment in order to encourage the progression of socialization skills, motor skills, and emotional development of all our students while also encouraging independence, listening skills, and self-expression. Our students prepare for Kindergarten through the learning of numbers, letters, writing, reading, colors, and shapes.

 

Enrollment Information

1. Review class information.  Decide upon a class that will best fit schedules and the child’s age.  There is limited enrollment in these programs.

  • Little Learners is for children who are 3 years old as of August 30, 2022.

  • Pre-Kindergarten is for children who are 4 years old as of August 30, 2022.

 

2.  Register in person at the Community Center at 630.837.2468

  • First month’s tuition.

  • Child’s birth certificate.

  • Non-residents will be charged an additional $15 at the time of registration when applicable.

 

3. Upon completing the registration you will receive:

  • Parent manual

  • Information sheet concerning billing

  • Emergency information form to be completed by the parent and given to the child's teacher on the first day of school

 

4. All children must be toilet independent

  • Pull-ups are not acceptable for Little Learners and Pre-Kindergarten. Please refer to the Totally 2’s & 3’s regarding pull-ups.

Totally 2s & 3s:

This program is designed to provide your child with their first introduction to the preschool setting. Our qualified, caring, and nurturing staff will help ease each child’s separation from their parents. This class aims to emphasize socialization and learning through the use of play. Your toddler will experience music, storytime, arts and crafts and so many other fun activities. This program is an excellent stepping stone into our Little Learners program.

Totally 2s & 3s Information:

Parents may stay on the first day of class to help ease their child into separation. This is not a parent/tot program and parents will be asked to stop attending after the first class.

 

Pull-ups are acceptable, but our teachers are not able to change any child. Children should be in the process of learning how to be toilet independent while attending this program. Parents must be available to return to the program to change their child’s pull-up or in case of a bathroom accident.

 

Pre-kindergarten

Make the smart choice to get your little one ready for kindergarten! Our curriculum is based on the Illinois Early Learning Standards. Students will learn about colors, size, shapes, numbers, reading readiness as well as how to follow directions and time. All while developing social-emotional and listening skills. Teachers will explore the alphabet, addresses, phone numbers, and how to write their names. Classes are designed to prepare children who enter kindergarten in the fall of 2023. A graduation celebration will be held at the end of the school year. Parents are encouraged to help 1-2 times a month in the preschool programs. Information may change due to CDC guidelines. Graduation for all Pre-K classes will take place Wednesday, May 24, 2023.

Little Learners:

Trunk or Treat | October 21, 2022

Get dressed in your favorite costumes and come to the Community Center for some trick-or-treating! Local organizations, businesses, and families will decorate their cars with spooky decorations for Halloween and provide candy and fun for all ages. To add to the excitement, there will be a chance to enter a Halloween costume contest where you can win a mystery prize basket! Joe’s Dough food truck and Kona Ice food truck will also be available to purchase some yummy treats.

Fall into music with our new drum lesson program. Drumming will teach discipline, perseverance, fine motor coordination, and self-confidence.  That’s much more than music!  You’ll learn to play from a professional performing drummer!  Bring 5A sticks or buy them on the first day of class.  Classes teach basic rudiments, percussion style notation, drum set basics, various musical styles, and much more. You’ll be playing in no time, and ready to start up that garage band with your friends!  The class size is limited to 4 students, but if the class is full, please sign up on the waiting list.  We will make additional classes and try our best to get everyone that signs up into a class.

Private Drum Lessons

For children and adults, beginners and experienced drummers! During private half-hour lessons on a professional drum set, you'll learn Jazz, Rock, Blues, Funk, and Latin Funk drum techniques. Instructor Verne Duddles creates a comfortable, safe, and inspiring atmosphere to maximize each student's progress. Safety guidelines will be followed throughout the lesson, such as wearing masks, maintaining a 6-ft distance, and sanitizing equipment through each use.

 

Please bring a set of drumsticks to class (price is $6-$12), available at any music store. Recommended drumsticks: Size 7A for children and 5A for adults.

Guidelines to Follow:

 

1. Participants should wear face coverings over their nose and mouth. (exceptions can be made for people with medical conditions or disabilities that prevent them from safely wearing a face covering).

 

2. Lessons will allow for 6-ft. of social distancing between participants and instructor.

 

3. Please wash your hands before and after the program. 

 

4. Before allowing entrance or before class, staff will ask whether participants are currently exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms. If a participant does have symptoms, they should not enter the premises. Please contact us for a refund due to illness. 

5. Equipment will not be shared between participants unless from the same household.

6. Classes do not add new participants once the session has started.
