Youth Inter-Village
Spring Soccer Leagues
U8-U14 | Register Online
The Inter Village league will provide an environment for players of all levels. Teams are offered at the following levels: U8 (1st/2nd grade), U10 (3rd/4th grade), U12 (5th/6th grade), and U14 (7th/8th grade). Teams will compete against teams from other area Park Districts. Practice days and times are determined by the volunteer coach. The games are on Saturdays. Players should register based on their grade for the 2022/2023 school year. Each player receives a team jersey, shorts, and socks. Shin guards are required. Soccer cleats are recommended.
Registration deadline is March 3rd
After the 2nd practice, there will be no refunds issued.

Volunteer Soccer Coaches
Our athletic leagues are highly reliant on volunteer coaches. All necessary equipment and training resources are provided, ensuring that our volunteer coaches are prepared to coach, and have a fun and rewarding experience.
To show our appreciation for your commitment, all-volunteer coaches receive a sweater or polo, a team picture plaque, and a discount on your child’s registration.

Hot Shot Sports

Adult-Tot Soccer

Young children develop motor skills while having fun running and kicking. Parents and tots work together in this class, learning the basics of soccer. Dribbling, passing, shooting, and kicking will all be emphasized. A variety of activities will be played each week.

Pee Wee Soccer

Let your child’s early soccer experience be a great one. The younger player develops their soccer skills and also gains confidence, coordination, motor skills, and communication. The program uses age-appropriate drills and exercises to teach players kicking, ball control, dribbling, shooting, and more.

Soccer Skills Clinic
Age 7-9 | Fridays | $75/$90
Players are introduced to the fundamentals of soccer tactics such as passing the ball, offensive moves, defensive moves, keeping/controlling the ball, and taking the ball away from the opposing team. Players learn to score and prevent goals. Physical endurance and fitness are emphasized while touching the ball. At this age, the focus starts to change from simple games to organized, tactical, competitive games.

Winter Co-Ed Indoor Soccer League
Futsal is a style of soccer that is played indoors! This fast-paced play of soccer will enhance all of the following which is transferable to its outdoor counterparts: (1) having good technique, ex. foot-skills; and (2) developing a creative, tactical mind, or speed of play. Playing Futsal teaches both components better than any other indoor format. Games will be played 5v5 and the format of the program will be league style which means practices throughout the week and games on Saturday afternoons.
Practice times will be based on coaches' availability during the weeknight. Practices will be held at surrounding schools.

Tae-Kwon-Do

The focus of the Golden Lion Academy combines the disciplines of Tae-kwon-do, Hapkido Judo, and Kung-fu. Students learn the basics of self-defense from day one. They build upon these features by adding more advanced techniques from various styles. As students progress, they earn opportunities for advancement through the various ranks in a safe, friendly, and enjoyable environment. This commitment has helped the Golden Lion Academy develop countless numbers of individuals over the past 30 years. Advanced placement requires the instructor’s authorization to enroll. Safety guidelines will be followed throughout the class, such as wearing masks when not exercising, maintaining a 6-ft distance between participants, no physical contact between participants, and sanitizing equipment through each use.

Self Defense

Learn how to properly defend yourself against any violence and or activities that may harm you or anyone who is defenseless. Learn from 1st Don Black Belt George Gutierrez and George Sanchez, who are also our Golden Lion Academy Tae Kwon Do instructors, on the best way to defend yourself and others in any situation of violence. This self-defense class will be taught with a lot of repetitive hands-on techniques and the instructor will be very verbal on how to handle situations and the next moves. Come join us for a fun-filled class that will be very useful when needed. (BW)

The Hanover Park Park District gymnastics program is operated by the Gymkhana Gymnastics Club. Gymkhana has been providing high-quality instruction in gymnastics since 1975. They offer programs for all ages and abilities starting from preschool gymnastics classes, to their nationally competing U.S.A. Gymnastics Men’s and Women’s teams. Gymkhana’s professional staff is composed of U.S.A. Gymnastics safety certified coaches. The Gymkhana facility is 25,300 square feet of the latest and best equipment.

Winter Inter-Village Boys
Basketball Leagues
Hanover Park Park District has joined a Winter Basketball Inter Village League against Park District Teams from Roselle, Carol Stream, Hoffman, Bloomingdale, and many more! Teams will be put into divisions and play against each other throughout the season in this fun and recreational basketball league. Come join Hanover Park and compete for your town against our neighbors!
Players will receive instructions from volunteer coaches in dribbling, passing, and shooting, as well as learning the importance of teamwork and good sportsmanship. The volunteer coach and facility location determine practice locations, dates, and times. Leagues will compete Saturdays at the Community Center Gym. Each player will receive a jersey and shorts.
All teams will be formed by a draft system. Players must attend evaluations to assist the coaches in drafting the fairest teams possible for the league. The location, dates, and times are listed below. Players should arrive 15 minutes prior to the start of their evaluation times for check-in.
The head coach and assistant coach may request to keep their child on the same team. No other requests will be allowed before or after the draft. Coaches meetings will directly follow the players' evaluations.
Players who do not attend the evaluations, or do not register until the evaluations have been conducted will be randomly assigned to a team.

ISKC’s karate classes offer a good mix of strength training, with cardiovascular and flexibility exercises. Students increase their coordination, agility, and poise, as well as learn lasting personal safety skills. They also benefit from the mental stimulation of learning the choreographed moves of the kata and the discipline of conforming to the class rules.
