Soccer Skills 101

Players are introduced to fundamental soccer tactics, including passing, ball control, offensive and defensive movement, and taking the ball away from the opposing team. Participants will learn how to score goals and defend effectively while building physical endurance and overall fitness through consistent ball touches. At this stage, the focus begins to shift from simple activities to more organized, tactical, and competitive game play in a supportive team environment.

Basketball Clinics | Age 10+

The Basketball Skills Development program for ages 10 and above is designed to help participants build a solid foundation in the sport. Our experienced instructors focus on teaching fundamental basketball skills, including shooting, dribbling, and passing, while also introducing the basic rules of the game. The instructional sessions are primarily game and drill-oriented, ensuring an engaging and dynamic learning experience. Each week, participants have the opportunity to apply their newly acquired skills in mini-games and scrimmages, fostering teamwork and game awareness. This introductory T-ball program is perfect for a child who wants to have fun, make new friends, and be introduced to baseball. Participants enjoy learning the skills needed to play baseball, including offense and defense, as well as the rules and philosophies of the game. The program stresses teamwork over competition. All you need to bring is a glove!

Don’t strike out on the opportunity to give your athlete an experience to be exposed to the fundamentals of baseball, gain confidence, and experience friendly competition recreationally.

 

Practices will be on Monday evenings, followed by games on Wednesday evenings.

This will be a 6-week season followed by an end-of-season tournament on the last Saturday of the season. Shirts are included. Parents will need to provide pants, gloves, a helmet, a hat, and a bat. Awards will be given to all participants.

 

*Please note the tournament date will be dependent on any rain makeup days and the number of teams.*

Gymnastics 

The Hanover Park Park District gymnastics program is operated by the Gymkhana Gymnastics Club. Gymkhana has been providing high-quality instruction in gymnastics since 1975. They offer programs for all ages and abilities starting from preschool gymnastics classes, to their nationally competing U.S.A.

 

Gymnastics Men’s and Women’s teams. Gymkhana’s professional staff is comprised of U.S.A. Gymnastics safety certified coaches. The Gymkhana facility is 25,300 square feet of the latest and best equipment.
