Position Overview
The Hanover Park Park District is seeking a highly skilled finance professional to serve as its Superintendent of Finance, the District’s senior financial leader.
This position is responsible for the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of all financial operations while providing both strategic leadership and hands-on oversight of accounting, payroll, budgeting, financial reporting, and audit functions. The Superintendent of Finance ensures compliance with GAAP, GASB, and all applicable laws while maintaining strong internal controls and audit readiness.
This role is instrumental in strengthening financial systems, improving processes, and building structure, consistency, and accountability across the organization, while serving as a key advisor to the Executive Director and Administrative Team.
Key Responsibilities

Oversee all financial operations, including general ledger, payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and reporting

Lead annual budget development, forecasting, and long-range financial planning

Ensure compliance with GAAP, GASB, and all regulatory requirements

Coordinate and lead the annual audit process and maintain audit readiness

Oversee payroll operations and ensure compliance with wage and hour laws

Administer procurement compliance and financial controls

Manage cash flow, investments, and capital planning efforts

Provide financial analysis and guidance to leadership

Develop and strengthen financial processes, policies, and internal controls

Supervise Business Services staff and promote accountability and organization
Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
-
CPA preferred; candidates without a CPA must demonstrate strong governmental accounting expertise
-
Minimum five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in governmental or public sector finance
-
Supervisory experience required
-
Park district or municipal experience strongly preferred
-
Experience with Tyler Technologies (FundBalance) and RecTrac preferred
Salary
-
Salary Range: $92,000 – $110,000
-
Target Hiring Range: $92,000 – $100,000
-
Highly qualified candidates and/or individuals with a CPA and extensive governmental accounting experience may be considered at the higher end of the range

Dance Instructor
Status: Part-Time, Non-Exempt
Pay Range: $15 – $17/hour
Share your passion for dance with our community! Hanover Park Park District is seeking an energetic Dance Instructor to lead classes for ages 4–14. We’re looking for someone who brings creativity, enthusiasm, and strong communication skills, and can teach a variety of styles such as ballet, jazz, and hip-hop. This part-time role offers flexible scheduling (Monday–Saturday) and the opportunity to inspire confidence and teamwork through dance.

Looking ahead to Summer 2026! Hanover Park Park District will be hiring Lifeguards and Swim Instructors for Seafari Springs Aquatic Center. These seasonal positions offer a fun and rewarding way to spend your summer while ensuring safety and creating a positive experience for our community.
