BASC Daily Pass

Don’t have a set schedule or need childcare when something comes up? Then this is your solution. The Daily Pass allows you to purchase days and use them when you need them throughout the school year.  There are guidelines that will be given out at the time of registration.  Please note that some dates may become unavailable based on program capacity.  No refunds are given on unused passes.

School’s out, so join us for a day of fun!  Children will participate in a variety of games and activities to keep themselves engaged. Please pack your children a lunch and water bottle. An afternoon snack is provided. A morning and afternoon snack are provided. On days that all Hanover Park schools are off, we will be going on a field trip. This program is open to all children in grades K-8; enrollment in Before and After School Club is not required. Morning care is available from 6:15 am - 8 am see information listed below.

Preschool Mission Statement

The Hanover Park Park District’s Preschool program provides a safe and nurturing learning environment to encourage the progression of socialization skills,   motor skills,   and emotional development while encouraging independence, self-expression, and listening skills. Our students are prepared for kindergarten through the learning areas of numbers,   math,   letters, writing, reading, colors, and shapes.

 

Preschool 2021-2022 Enrollment Information 

1.Review class information.  Decide upon a class that will best fit schedules and the child’s age.  There is limited enrollment in these programs.

  • Little Learners is for children who are 3 years old as of August 30, 2021.

  • Pre-Kindergarten is for children who are 4 years old as of August 30, 2021.

 

2. Register by calling the front desk at the Community Center 630.837.2468.

  • You will need the first month’s tuition.

  • You will need a copy of your child’s birth certificate.

  • $15 non-resident fee will be charged at the time of registration when applicable.

 

3. Upon completing the registration you will receive:

  • Parent Manual.

  • Information Sheet concerning billing.

  • Emergency information form to be completed by the parent and given to child’s teacher on the first day of school.

 

4. All children must be toilet independent

  • Pull-ups are not acceptable for Little Learners and Pre-Kindergarten.  Please refer to the Totally 2’s & 3’s description regarding pull-ups for that program.

Socialization and learning through play will fill your child’s day. Registration must be completed by calling the Park District office (630) 837-2468.  The entire fee is due at the time of registration.  A copy of the child’s birth certificate is due at the time of registration.  Your child must be 2 years old by August 30, 2021.  Upon registering you will be given a copy of the parent manual, emergency form, and medication form.  The forms are due on the first day of class.   

 

Totally 2s & 3s Information

Beginning Guitar Lessons

Beginning Piano Lessons

Private Drum Lessons

For children and adults, beginners, and experienced drummers! You'll learn Jazz, Rock, Blues, Funk, and Latin Funk drum techniques during private half-hour lessons on a professional drum set. Instructor Verne Duddles creates a comfortable, safe, and inspiring atmosphere to maximize each student's progress. Safety guidelines will be followed throughout the lesson, such as wearing masks, maintaining a 6-ft distance, and sanitizing equipment through each use.

 

Please bring a set of drum sticks to class (price is $6-$12), available at any music store. Recommended drumsticks: Size 7A for children and 5A for adults.

Guidelines to Follow:

 

1. Participants should wear face coverings over their nose and mouth. (exceptions can be made for people with medical conditions or disabilities that prevent them from safely wearing a face covering).

 

2. Lessons will allow for 6-ft. of social distancing between participants and instructor.

 

3. Please wash your hands before and after the program. 

 

4. Before allowing entrance or before class, staff will ask whether participants are currently exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms. If a participant does have symptoms, they should not enter the premises. Please contact us for a refund due to illness. 

5. Equipment will not be shared between participants unless from the same household.

6. Classes do not add new participants once the session has started.

 

7. Parents and guardians are not allowed to enter the board room, this way we can maintain social distancing.

 

8. Under no circumstance will the instructor allow contact between participants.

Do you love video games? Are you better than your friends? Then prove it! Join our NEW gaming leagues through GGLeagues, one of Illinois’s top gaming organizations. Play Madden 21, Rocket League, Fortnite, and Super Smash Bros, and show off your skills. You will be playing against top-notch competition as others will sign up to see if they can be the best.

After registration, you will receive an informational email from GG Leagues about how to sign up and play with the other players that have registered.

Code Ninjas Winter 2021 Camp Guide

Winter Camp Schedule

Code Ninjas camps offer an engaging and fun environment for children to learn coding and robotics, build problem-solving & critical thinking skills, gain confidence, and have a blast with friends!

 

Minecraft 1

Ninjas will gain an understanding of the digital modeling processes and storytelling as they build scenes in Minecraft® and produce stories in their digital world. They will also be introduced to recording, editing, and mixing audio and video as they produce their final stories as short movies. 

Note: Requires a Java edition account ($27.95) not included in the camp.

 

Roblox 2

Ninjas familiar with Roblox will take their Roblox skills to the next level! Campers learn the fundamentals of scripting (coding) and dig into the game making of Roblox to move from being a player to becoming a developer. Using the Lua programming language, ninjas will create their own timed, sudden-death Roblox game along with an interactive obstacle course game.

Become a YouTuber 

Campers will learn the basics of YouTube and design a custom video thumbnail for their very own personalized YouTube video tutorial. This camp advances existing Scratch, Robloxor MakeCode skills as campers create a more complex game that requires additional loops, inputs, and movements.

Adventures in 3D Printing

Through Adventure in 3D Printing, ninjas will explore design thinking and the innovative process as they learn to prototype and test new creations. Campers can choose a path of creating a new model in CAD or importing a design to remix.

 

Aerospace Club

Calling all NASA and SpaceX fans! Explore our solar system along with the concepts of aerodynamics and physics. With the use of the Kerbal Space Program®, ninjas will learn how to construct and launch their very own spacecraft.

 

Game Building Club

Learn and apply coding skills to program your own computer projects using Scratch 3.0! Build single-player & multi-player games, create puzzles, race through mazes, add animation, and more!

 

Minecraft/Roblox Club

Basketball Leagues | Co-Ed

Register Online

Players will receive instructions from volunteer coaches in dribbling, passing, shooting, as well as learning the importance of teamwork and good sportsmanship. Practice locations, dates, and times are determined by the volunteer coach and facility location. Leagues will compete Saturdays at the Community Center Gym. Each player will receive a jersey and shorts.

All teams will be formed by a draft system. Players are required to attend evaluations to assist the coaches in drafting the fairest teams possible for the league. Location, dates, and times are listed below. Players should arrive 15 minutes prior to the start of their evaluation times for check-in.

The head coach and assistant coach may request to keep their child on the same team. No other requests will be allowed before or after the draft. Coaches' meetings will directly follow the players' evaluations. 

Players who do not attend the evaluations, or do not register until the evaluations have been conducted will be randomly assigned to a team.

The registration deadline is Wednesday, December 10th. After the 2nd practice, there will be no refunds issued.

Youth Inter-Village

Spring Soccer Leagues

U8-U14 | Register Online

 

The Inter Village league will provide an environment for players offered at the following levels: U8 (1st/2nd grade), U10 (3rd/4th grade), U12 (5th/6th grade), and U14 (7th/8th grade). Teams will compete against teams from other areas Park Districts. Practice day and times are determined by the volunteer coach. Games are on Saturdays. Players should register based on their grade for the 2021/2022 school year. Each player receives a team jersey, shorts, and socks. Shin guards are required. Soccer cleats are recommended.

 

Registration deadline is Wednesday, March 23rd, 2022!  

After the 2nd practice, there will be no refunds issued.

Volunteer Soccer Coaches

Our athletic leagues are highly reliant on volunteer coaches. All necessary equipment and training resources are provided, ensuring that our volunteer coaches are prepared to coach, and have a fun and rewarding experience.

 

To show our appreciation of your commitment, all-volunteer coaches receive a sweater or polo, a team picture plaque, and a discount on your child’s registration.

Please note the IDPH guidelines are ever-changing. Guidelines may be updated throughout the season. You will be notified via email the week of practice what guidelines participants will need to follow.

Co-Ed Indoor Soccer League

Futsal is a style of soccer that is played indoors! This fast-paced play of soccer will enhance all of the following which is transferable to its outdoor counterparts: (1) having good technique, ex. foot-skills; and (2) developing a creative, tactical mind, or speed of play. Playing Futsal teaches both components better than any other indoor format. Games will be played 4v4 with goalies and the format of the program will be league style which means practices throughout the week and games on Thursday nights.

Practice times will be based upon coaches' availability during the weeknight. Practices will be held at surrounding schools.

Golden Lion Academy

Tae-Kwon-Do

The focus of the Golden Lion Academy combines the disciplines of Tae-kwon-do, Hapkido Judo, and Kung-fu. Students learn the basics of self-defense from day one. They build upon these features by adding more advanced techniques from various styles. As students progress, they earn opportunities for advancement through the various ranks in a safe, friendly, and enjoyable environment. This commitment has helped the Golden Lion Academy develop countless numbers of individuals over the past 30 years. Advanced placement requires the instructor’s authorization to enroll. Safety guidelines will be followed throughout the class, such as wearing masks when not exercising, maintaining a 6-ft distance between participants, no physical contact between participants, and sanitizing equipment through each use.

Self Defense

Punch it! HPPD will help you develop self-confidence and self-respect in a safe and fun environment. Participants will learn how to sharpen their minds and body through the technique and discipline of this program. Learn how to wrap hands like a boxer, stance, self-defense, and punching technique all while shadow boxing, working the heavy bag, and working the speed bag. Participants are strongly recommended to purchase mouth guards & hand wraps for the program. No boxing experience is needed.

Gymnastics - Gymkhana

The Hanover Park Park District gymnastics program is operated by the Gymkhana Gymnastics Club.  Gymkhana has been providing high-quality instruction in gymnastics since 1975. They offer programs for all ages and abilities starting from preschool gymnastics classes, to their nationally competing U.S.A. Gymnastics Men’s and Women’s teams.  Gymkhana’s professional staff is comprised of the U.S.A. Gymnastics safety certified coaches. The Gymkhana facility is 25,300 square feet of the latest and best equipment.

Preschool Gymnastics

This program introduces young children to gymnastics alongside their parents.  Body awareness and balance will be developed through an “obstacle course” arrangement of mats, foam inclines, barrels, steps, and mini-equipment.  One parent is required to attend class with the child (A maximum of 4 students enrolled per class).

Little Gymnastics Star
