Preschool Mission Statement

Hanover Park Park District is dedicated to preparing little sprouts for kindergarten with care and creativity! We offer a secure and nurturing environment where young learners can grow and thrive. Our programs focus on essential skills like motor development, independence-building, and listening comprehension. Kids will have a blast as they explore numbers and letters, while engaging in self-expression activities that nurture their confidence. Through fun adventures in the world of colors and shapes, we help each child blossom into their best self!

Little Learners is for children who are 3 years old as of September 1, 2026.

Pre-Kindergarten is for children who are 4 years old as of September 1, 2026.

Pull-ups are not acceptable for Little Learners and Pre-Kindergarten. Please refer to the Totally 2’s & 3’s regarding pull-ups.

Little Learners:

Socialization and learning through play will delight your little sprout each day. They'll dive into creative art expression, rhythm activities, singing, and enchanting stories, while also developing name recognition, fine motor skills, and exploring everyday math, science, and language. This playful and nurturing environment provides an excellent foundation, helping your child blossom and get ready for Pre-Kindergarten with confidence and excitement.

This program is crafted to give your little sprout a gentle introduction to the preschool world. Our devoted and nurturing staff will help ease your child’s transition from home, providing a warm and supportive environment. The class highlights socialization and learning through playful activities. Your toddler will explore music, storytime, arts and crafts, and much more, all designed to spark their curiosity and joy. This program is the perfect stepping stone for your growing sprout, preparing them beautifully for our Little Learners program.

Totally 2s & 3s Information:

Parents may stay on the first day of class to help ease their child into separation. This is not a parent/tot program, and parents will be asked to stop attending after the first class.

Pull-ups are acceptable, but our teachers cannot change any child. Children should be in the process of learning how to be toilet-independent while attending this program. Parents must be available to return to the program to change their child’s pull-up or in case of a bathroom accident.

Pre-kindergarten

Get your little sprout ready for kindergarten with our heartwarming program! Our curriculum introduces young learners to colors, sizes, shapes, numbers, and reading readiness. They’ll also pick up valuable skills like following directions and understanding time, all while blossoming socially and emotionally. Our caring teachers will guide your child through the alphabet, addresses, phone numbers, and even writing their names. This nurturing program is designed for those who will start kindergarten in the fall of 2026, and we’ll celebrate their growth with a special graduation on May 26, 2027. Please note that if enrollment is low, we may need to combine Pre-K classes. Keep an eye out for any changes due to CDC guidelines.

Preschool Spring Break Camp

Give your preschooler a fun and gentle introduction to camp during Spring Break! Our Preschool Spring Break Camp is designed just for little learners to explore, play, and make new friends in a safe and nurturing environment.

Campers will enjoy themed activities including arts & crafts, games, music and movement, story time, and hands-on play that supports social skills and creativity. Camp runs Monday through Thursday. No campon Friday for Good Friday. To make the week extra special, campers will head out on a field trip for a fun adventure outside the classroom.

Children should bring a nut-free lunch and snacks each day to help keep them energized.

Sensory Sprouts (Parent & Me)

A gentle first step into the classroom experience!

Sensory Sprouts is a nurturing Parent & Me class designed especially for 2-year-olds who are just beginning to explore routines, structure, and social time in a classroom setting. With a trusted adult by their side, children will build confidence while discovering the joy of learning through play.

Each class invites little learners to explore a variety of hands-on sensory activities that support early development, curiosity, and self-expression. Activities may include textures, colors, music, movement, and simple group experiences perfect for growing independence at a comfortable pace. Location: Ahlstrand Fieldhouse

Acorn Adventures
