Preschool Mission Statement

Hanover Park Park District is dedicated to preparing little sprouts for kindergarten with care and creativity! We offer a secure and nurturing environment where young learners can grow and thrive. Our programs focus on essential skills like motor development, independence-building, and listening comprehension. Kids will have a blast as they explore numbers and letters, while engaging in self-expression activities that nurture their confidence. Through fun adventures in the world of colors and shapes, we help each child blossom into their best self!

Review class information. Decide upon a class that fits your schedule best and your child’s age.

(There is limited enrollment in these programs.)

Little Learners is for children who are 3 years old as of September 1, 2026.

Pre-Kindergarten is for children who are 4 years old as of September 1, 2026.

All children must be toilet independent

Pull-ups are not acceptable for Little Learners and Pre-Kindergarten. Please refer to the Totally 2’s & 3’s regarding pull-ups.

Preschool classes will follow the U-46 Winter and Spring Break schedules.

Little Sprouts Preschool:

Totally 2s & 3s:

This program provides a gentle introduction to preschool in a warm and supportive environment. Children will build social skills and learn through play, music, stories, arts and crafts, and other engaging activities. It's the perfect stepping stone to our Little Learners program.

Parents may stay on the first day to help their child adjust. Pull-ups are permitted; however, staff cannot change children. Participants should be working toward toilet independence, and parents must be available to return if a pull-up change or bathroom accident occurs.

Little Learners:

Socialization and learning through play will delight your little sprout each day. They'll dive into creative art expression, rhythm activities, singing, and enchanting stories, while also developing name recognition, fine motor skills, and exploring everyday math, science, and language. This playful and nurturing environment provides an excellent foundation, helping your child blossom and get ready for Pre-Kindergarten with confidence and excitement.

Pre-kindergarten

Get your little sprout ready for kindergarten with our heartwarming program! Our curriculum introduces young learners to colors, sizes, shapes, numbers, and reading readiness. They’ll also pick up valuable skills like following directions and understanding time, all while blossoming socially and emotionally. Our caring teachers will guide your child through the alphabet, addresses, phone numbers, and even writing their names. This nurturing program is designed for those who will start kindergarten in the fall of 2026, and we’ll celebrate their growth with a special graduation on May 26, 2027. Please note that if enrollment is low, we may need to combine Pre-K classes.

Preschool Break Camp Adventures!

Looking for fun and engaging care during school breaks? The Hanover Park Park District is excited to offer Thanksgiving Break, Winter Break, and Spring Break programs for preschool-aged children!

Our programs run from 9:00 AM–2:00 PM and are packed with age-appropriate activities designed to keep little learners active, creative, and having fun. Each break session will feature crafts, games, STEM activities, themed projects, outdoor play (weather permitting), and special experiences tailored to the season.

To make the adventure even more exciting, each program will include a field trip that gives children the opportunity to explore, learn, and create lasting memories with friends.

Little Sprouts Early Learning Programs

STEM Explorers: Ages: 3-4 yrs | Register Now

Right after Acon Adventure, the learning continues with STEM Explorers a hands-on introduction to science, technology, engineering, and math. Through simple experiments, building challenges, and interactive projects, children develop problem-solving skills and curiosity about the world around them.

This program helps extend your child’s preschool day while supporting school readiness in a fun, engaging, and age-appropriate way.

Sensory Sprouts: Parent & Me Class (Ages 2)

A Gentle First Step into Preschool: Sensory Sprouts is a welcoming Parent & Me program designed specifically for 2-year-olds and their caregivers. This 1.5-hour class offers a warm, supportive environment where children explore, play, and learn side-by-side with a trusted adult. Through sensory-based activities, simple crafts, songs, movement, and hands-on discovery, little ones build early developmental skills while gaining confidence in a group setting. Parents stay and participate, helping children feel secure as they experience new routines and social interactions.

Acorn Adventures
