Preschool Mission Statement

The Hanover Park Park District’s Preschool program provides a safe and nurturing learning environment to encourage the progression of socialization skills, motor skills, and emotional development while encouraging independence, self-expression and listening skills.

Preschool 2020-2021 Enrollment Information

  1. Review class information.  Decide upon a class that will best fit schedules and a child’s age.  There is limited enrollment in these programs.

    1. Little Learners is for children who are 3 years old as of September 1, 2020.

    2. Pre-Kindergarten is for children who are 4 years old as of September 1, 2020.​​

  2. Register in person at the Community Center.

    1. You will need the first month’s tuition.

    2. You will need a copy of your child’s birth certificate.

    3. A $15 non-resident fee will be charged at the time of registration when applicable.

  3. Done! You will now receive:

    1. Parent Manual.

    2. Information sheet concerning billing.

    3. Emergency information form to be completed by a parent and given to a child’s teacher on the first day of school.

  4. Make sure they're toilet independent

    1. Pull-ups are not acceptable for Little Learners and Pre-Kindergarten.  Please refer to the Totally 2’s & 3’s description regarding pull-ups for that program. 

Summer Preschool | Ages 3-5

Make the most of the summer! In this class, children will practice their fine motor skills, name writing, letter writing and recognition, and phonics. They will also get a chance to meet new friends and improve their social skills in a nurturing environment.

Totally 2s & 3s

This program is designed to provide your child with their first introduction to a preschool setting.  Our caring and qualified staff will help ease each child’s separation from their parent.  Classes will emphasize socialization and learning through play.  Music, storytime, and arts and crafts are a few of the exciting new experiences your toddler will enjoy.  This program is an excellent stepping stone into our Little Learners program.

Totally 2s & 3s Enrollment Procedure

Registration must be completed at the Park District office.  The entire fee is due at the time of registration.  A copy of the child’s birth certificate is due at the time of registration.  Your child must be 2 years old by September 1, 2020.  Upon registering you will be given a copy of the parent manual, emergency form, and medication form.  The forms are due on the first day of class.  


Totally 2s & 3s Information

Parents may stay the first class to help ease their child into separation.  This is not a parent/tot program and will be asked to stop attending after the first class. 


Pull-ups are accepted, but our teachers are not able to change any child.  Children should be in the process of learning how to be toilet independent while attending this program.  Parents must be available to return to the program to change their child’s pull up or in case of a bathroom accident. 

Tiny Tot Camp | Ages 2-4

Our littlest campers will have a blast this summer at Tiny Tot Camp. We will sing summer songs, explore nature, and have circle time. A morning snack is provided. Each day has a creative theme with games and crafts. Some days will include water play using either a wading pool or sprinkler. Campers should bring a lunch and drink to

camp. A calendar with important information will be given out at the start of each session.

Based on the Illinois Early Learning Standards, our curriculum will help prepare your child for kindergarten. Students will be introduced to size, color, shapes, numbers, and pre-reading skills. Hand on lessons and free play will encourage the development of social-emotional and listening skills. Teachers will explore the alphabet, addresses, phone numbers, and name writing with your child. Classes are designed to prepare children who enter kindergarten in the fall of 2021.  A graduation celebration will be held at the end of the school year.

Little Learners

Socialization and learning through play will fill your child’s day. Students are exposed to creative art expression, singing and rhythm activities, body movement, stories, free play, name recognition, fine motor skills, and activities related to everyday math, science, and language discovery.  This class is a great opportunity for your child to get ready for Pre-Kindergarten.
