GUITAR INSTRUCTION---New Summer Schedule

Guitar FUN-damentals provides high quality instruction in a friendly format that stresses fun as well as learning. One-hour small group classes meet conveniently Monday through Thursday evenings for 2 weeks in the summer, to fit in with family vacation plans. Sessions begin June 14 , July 12 and August 2. You’ll receive plenty of personal attention in an energetic atmosphere. Bring your own acoustic or electric guitar.

 

Beginning Guitar 1: Students learn basic chords, sight-reading, and songs. One-time book fee of $16.25 is payable to instructor at first class. (Make check payable to Guitar FUN-damentals.)

Beginning Piano Lessons

Here’s your opportunity to learn to play the piano. Beginning classes for children are offered this Summer on Mondays from June 21 through August 9 in conjunction with A&A Music Academy at 27W281 Devon Ave. (Ontarioville Rd.) in Hanover Park. Basic skills, music reading and counting will be taught. Because we are able to add additional classes as needed, you may register even if the original class is full. A book fee of $10 payable to A&A Music is due on the first day of class. Call 630-837-7484 if you need driving directions.

Drum Lessons                                     

For children and adults, beginners and experienced drummers! Summer Session I begins Thursday, June 10 through July 15. Session II meets July 22 through August 26. You'll learn Jazz, Rock, Blues, Funk, and Latin Funk drum techniques during private half-hour lessons on a professional drum set. Instructor Verne Duddles creates a comfortable and inspiring atmosphere to maximize each student's progress. Please bring a set of drum sticks to class (price is $6-$12), available at any good music store. Recommended drumsticks: Size 7A for children, 5A for adults.

 

Note to continuing students: Early registration for continuing students will be May 3 - 8 to reserve preferred time in both Summer sessions. Please understand that your preferred time may not be available after these dates if you do not take advantage of early registration.

YOUNG REMBRANDTS

NEW Summer “Camp” Sessions!                                                        

 

Young Rembrandts’ three-day “Camp” sessions fit in with family vacation time! Instruction combines what children need to learn and practice with what they love and want to draw! Lessons are designed to match the abilities and interests of different age groups. Students take home a ready-to-display project each day. All materials supplied.

 

Junior Monster Cartoon “Camp”

Boys and girls are going to love these original, inventive, and playful monsters! Class meets on Monday, Wednesday and Friday beginning June 21. Learn to draw wild faces, exaggerated features, and scary bodies. Students will learn a variety of basic cartooning techniques while enjoying the fun our creatures offer. The “monster under the bed,” the “closet monster,” and many more will appear, along with a multitude of original characters. Pencils, color pencils, markers, and Sharpies will be used.

Historical Girl “Camp”

Here is your chance to draw a variety of girl dolls in many different costumes and accessories from different periods in time. Class meets on Monday, Wednesday and Friday beginning June 21. We will learn to draw the basic doll figure. Then we will place her in several time periods. Our dolls will have coordinating outfits that fit the scene. The final day will consist of many historical dolls together in a large scene. Pencils, color pencils, markers, and Sharpies will be used.

Anime Cartooon “Camp”

Explore the world of Anime with Young Rembrandts. Class meets on Monday, Wednesday and Friday beginning June 21. We’ll spend 3 days learning about and drawing cartoons in the popular Anime style, creating our own Anime characters. We’ll use a variety of facial expressions plus action, and movement to illustrate our scenes. On the final day, we’ll pull from what we learned to draw a large comic book scene in the Anime style.
