ASK THE PARK DISTRICT

Question: Why do non-residents have to pay an extra fee?

Answer: A non-resident is defined as anyone NOT living within the geographical boundaries of the Hanover Park Park District.  It is common for park districts to offer two types of user fees.  The non-resident fee is a higher fee because non-residents do not pay taxes to our park district.  The resident fee is a lower fee because residents pay taxes to our park district.  Non-residents may register for programs for a fee that is 50% higher than the resident fee or $15 over the resident fee, whichever is the smaller amount.  Boundaries of the Park District are different than those of the Village of Hanover Park.

Question: Is the public invited to the monthly board meetings?

Answer: The public is most welcome to attend both monthly board meetings.  Hanover Park Park District board meetings are held every second and fourth Monday, except holidays, starting at 7 PM at the Community Center.

Question: Does Hanover Park Park District have a recycling program?

Answer: There are recycling containers throughout the Community Center for plastic bottles and paper. The Park District also has two recycling containers in the Church Street parking lot for newspapers, magazines and books without the covers.

Question:  Can I sign up for a Centre Court Athletic Club membership over the phone?

Answer:  All memberships must be purchased in person since there are a number of items that need to have a member present to complete. Items such as: residency, membership agreement and waivers to be signed, EFT payment plan and a photo i.d. are all items that need to have members here in person.
