“Omigod, omigod you guys!” We can not wait for you to join us this summer in bringing Legally Blonde Jr. to the Hanover Park Park District Stage.
Immerse yourself in the world of musical theater as we bring the excitement and magic of "Legally Blonde Jr!" to life on stage! From acting and singing to choreography and set design, this program provides an immersive experience to develop essential theater skills. Through collaborative rehearsals and team-based activities, participants will forge new friendships and enhance their ability to work effectively as a team! Every aspiring performer is encouraged to audition, and each participant will be assigned a role. This ensures an inclusive and encouraging environment where every individual's talent is recognized and celebrated.

Rehearsals: Wednesday from 5 pm - 8 pm and Saturday from 10 am - 1 pm

Auditions Will be on May 18th from noon to 3 pm with possible callbacks on May 21st from 6:30 PM - 8 PM if needed at the Hanover Park Park District

Without an accompanist: Please bring 32 bars of a contemporary musical theater song and 1 minute of a comedic monologue. We ask that you bring an instrumental version of your track to play over our Bluetooth speaker. The track must be instrumental only.
Auditioners MUST come prepared with a short song for the singing portion. Students must bring dance shoes or gym shoes for the dance portion. All auditions will be held on Saturday, May 18th, 2024 at the Hanover Park Park District Dance Room.
Creative Movement (2-3’s)
Creative movement classes provide young children with an introduction to the magical world of dance! Children explore basic dance concepts using make-believe imagery, hands-on props, and interactive music. Children also practice taking turns, sharing, and following directions. Creative movement classes are generally offered to little ones (usually 2-4 years of age), but they can certainly be found for older dancers as well!

Twinkle Toes (3’s)
Discover where the dance magic begins! Our Twinkle Toes class is perfect for your little dancer, focusing on pre-ballet and creative movement. This 30-minute class happens once a week, introducing kids to stretching, basic ballet positions, moving across the floor, free dance, and beginner tumbling!

Itty Bitty Ballerinas (4’s)
Itty Bitty Ballet is a 30-minute class designed for our young dancers who are ready to learn the basics of ballet. Dancers will learn basic ballet skills, understand musicality, and improve their listening and social skills.

Hip Hop Stars (4-6)
This class serves as an introduction to hip-hop dance. This class focuses on rhythm, musicality, creativity, coordination, body awareness, and basic hip-hop techniques. It is a great way to get kids moving and introduce them to the many benefits of the performing arts.

Ballet/Tumbling (3-5)
Bend, stretch, point, and flex. The grace of ballet and the flexibility of tumbling come together in this energetic class. Basic skills will be taught using engaging props in a fun and interactive environment.

Jazz (4-7)
Ignite your child's passion for dance in our dynamic jazz dance class designed for ages 4-7. Ballet-Tap (5-7)
This course will encompass both Ballet and Tap dancing. Participants will receive instruction in the fundamental aspects of each of these styles. Ballet serves as the foundation for various forms of dance. The class aims to familiarize students with three distinct dance styles, aiding them in discovering their preferences while readying them for more advanced levels.

Hip Hop (7+)
This course is tailored for aspiring young dancers with an enthusiasm for Hip Hop. Participants will acquire fundamental dance techniques, develop their performance abilities, and enhance their physical fitness. It's important to note that this class will not culminate in a recital. However, on the final day of the course, families are invited to witness their young dancers showcase their newly acquired skills.

Your child will rock that summer garage band with our exciting beginning guitar class program. Bring in your guitar, and we will teach your child to make it sound great with fun songs. Learn guitar from a performing professional guitar instructor! Classes are being offered in conjunction with A & A Music Academy 1971 E. Devon Ave. Hanover Park, IL. Each class is designed to teach basic music reading skills, chords, strumming techniques, and much more all with fun songs you’ll love! The class size is limited to 4 students, but if the class is full, please sign up on the waiting list. We will make additional classes and try our best to get everyone who signs up into a class.

We will fill your home with music, as your child learns fun songs they have heard. Your child learns from a professional degree instructor. Start playing drums and get ready for the fall garage band season with lessons from a professional performing drummer! It won’t take long, and you’ll be in demand. Bring 5A sticks or buy them on the first day of class. Classes teach the basic rudiments, percussion style notation, drum set basics, various musical styles, and much more. You’ll be playing in no time and bring “star power” to that garage band with your friends! Classes are being offered in conjunction with A & A Music Academy 1971 E. Devon Ave. Hanover Park, IL. The class size is limited to 4 students, but if the class is full, please sign up on the waiting list. We will make additional classes and try our best to get everyone who signs up into a class.

Guidelines to Follow:
1. Participants should wear face coverings over their nose and mouth. (exceptions can be made for people with medical conditions or disabilities that prevent them from safely wearing a face covering).
2. Lessons will allow for 6-ft. of social distancing between participants and instructor.
3. Please wash your hands before and after the program.
4. Before allowing entrance or before class, staff will ask whether participants are currently exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms. If a participant does have symptoms, they should not enter the premises. Please contact us for a refund due to illness.
5. Equipment will not be shared between participants unless from the same household.
6. Classes do not add new participants once the session has started.
7. Parents and guardians are not allowed to enter the board room, this way we can maintain social distancing.
8. Under no circumstance will the instructor allow contact between participants.
